The Rule Analysis Dashboard helps reveal realized savings and missed savings opportunities related to Smart Review rules on invoices. Use it to identify training opportunities for invoice reviewers and to inform decisions about modifying your rule-set configuration.
You must have the Dashboard Administrator role to view dashboards for your organization.
Controls
Selecting the Controls dropdown reveals a list of filters. Changing filters updates the summary metrics, chart, and invoice list.
Pivot By
The Pivot by filter changes how results are grouped (the segmentation shown on the chart). Options include:
Charge Adjuster: Groups by users who adjust charges during invoice workflow (useful for reviewer behavior and consistency).
Invoice Approver: Groups by users who approved invoices.
Law Firm: Groups by law firm to compare flags, adjustments, and charge activity by firm.
Matter Contact: Groups by the Matter Contact on invoices.
Matter Invoice Contact: Groups by the Matter Invoice Contact on invoices.
Rule: Groups by rules that fired on invoices.
Five Summary Boxes
When you change filters, the totals in each of these boxes update:
System Adjustment (red) Savings: Realized savings from system-applied adjustments created when the law firm activated/submitted the invoice.
Client-Initiated Savings: Realized savings from reviewer-applied adjustments made during the client review workflow.
System Flag (blue) Savings: Savings from system flags that were later converted into adjustments by reviewers during workflow.
System Adjustment (red) Overrides: System adjustments that reviewers changed (for example, converted to flags or removed), representing adjustments that did not remain as system savings.
Unconverted Flags: System flags that did not result in savings, typically because they were not converted to adjustments.
Viewing the Graph
The chart updates as you change filters and Pivot by selections. Chart controls (top-right) typically let you collapse, maximize, or export to CSV (depending on configuration).
Hover over a bar to see counts (for example, how many times a rule fired in the selected period).
After filters are set, scroll down to the invoice list that supports the chart:
Select a bar to filter the invoice list to just the invoices represented by that bar.
Right-click a record (if enabled) to navigate directly to that invoice.
