Publishing Changes in Legacy
Publishing activates any changes made to configurable fields, rules, and Global Lookup Lists. Until you click Publish on the Administer Configurable Fields page, changes made during your session remain inactive.
You may also choose to clear all unpublished changes since the last publish.
- Once published, any edits or created fields are available immediately to all existing and new matters, invoices, contacts, participants, law firms, and law firm offices. Because publishing applies all pending changes at once, it is recommended to publish incrementally as you make updates.
- Newly created fields and lists cannot be deleted after publishing. They can only be inactivated. Be sure to preview your fields first.
- The Publish button is unavailable if no changes have been made since the last publish.

Using Selective Publishing (Manage Publishing Page)
Beginning in February 2026, customers with the Selective Publishing feature enabled can publish configurable field updates more precisely using the Managing Publishing page. Administrators can selectively publish specific updates while leaving others unpublished.
Instead of the Publish or Clear Changes buttons, users will see the Manage Publishing button on the Administer Configurable Fields page.
Clicking it opens the Manage Publishing page.
The Manage Publishing page displays all unpublished changes. Changes are grouped based on dependencies. This means some changes must be published together if they rely on one another.
- Select one or more groups to publish or clear.
- Click Publish changes of Clear changes. A confirmation message displays.
