The homepage search panels provide quick links to workflow-related searches. These panels provide access to workflow tasks that require attention.
The panels displayed depend on your assigned roles and permissions. Each panel contains predefined search links that open workflow search results filtered according to the selected option.
This article contains the following sections:
Contacts Panel
The Contacts panel provides access to the contact database. You can create contact records for individuals, companies, or any entity you want associated with matters by using the Matter Participant feature. You can also assign Contact Types to enable easier searching and categorization.
You can create Contacts, create Contact Groups, and import Contacts.
Calendars Panel
The Calendars panel displays links to calendar event searches for events owned by you. Each link takes you to the Calendars search page with the corresponding filter applied. You can also use the Create Event button to create a new calendar event.
The links show events based on their status:

| View Upcoming Events | Events that are upcoming. |
| Events Past Due | Events that have passed the due date. |
| Events Due Today | Events that are due on the current date. |
| Events Due Within 7 Days | Events that are due in the next seven days. |
| Events Due Within 30 Days | Events that are due in the next 30 days. |
Administration Panel
The Administration panel lets you access links to administrative areas of CounselLink. These same links are also available under QuickLinks in the Corporate Profile.
You can view all admin links by clicking Show All, but you can also add Pinned Links so they display without expanding the panel. The links available depend on your user roles.
The first time the Administration Panel is available to you, it will contain no Pinned Links.
Adding Pinned Links to Your Administration Panel

Click edit in the panel, or click Edit Pinned Links. The Edit Pinned Links window displays.
- Check the boxes next to the links you want to pin (up to 10).

Optional: When you have two or more, you can reorder them — hover over a link to reveal the move icon, then drag it where you want.
- Click Save.
Tasks Panel
The Tasks panel provides a way to see all the tasks you have been assigned and when they are due.
To use the panel:
- Find the Tasks panel on the homepage.

Use the first drop-down to filter by feature or area.
Depending on your configuration, you may not have tasks available for all features shown here.
- Filter your view by selecting Tasks assigned to me or Tasks created by me from the drop down menu.
- Click the Due Tomorrow, Next 7 Days, or Overdue columns to view the list of upcoming tasks that are due or to finish tasks that have missed their due date.
- Click the Search icon in the upper right hand corner to display all tasks that you have access to.

Click any task link to open the Task Details Overview window, where you can view or edit task details.
Saved Views Panel
The Saved Views panel displays any saved searches you have created. These saved views can be based on searches from Billing or Matters panels.
Messages Panel
The Messages panel occasionally shows any product messages created by CounselLink. These messages will change regularly.
New messages are noted with a large New icon, as shown below. New messages will display automatically after logging in.
Click View All to access the Info Center.
