About the Shared (Standard) Reports
The Shared Reports (also known as standard reports) page contains more than 70 preconfigured reports that are ready to run. Reports are organized into folders by type. Custom reports created by your company appear in a folder labeled with your company name.

To run, edit, or share a report, click the appropriate folder and select the report.
Viewing Standard Report Options
Once you click into a folder, you will see a list of reports. View the description below the report name to understand the data it provides. Click the report to run it.
Hover over a report to display available actions in the Action column.

| Edit | Opens the report layout page, where you can modify the layout and design. |
| Subscriptions | Access and manage subscriptions for the selected report. |
| Send Now | Send the report results to another LexisNexis® CounselLink® user. |
| Export | Export the report in your selected format. |
| Export a copy of the report as a PDF file. |
Sending a Report to Another User
You can distribute a report to another user within your organization using the Send Now feature.
- Find the report.

Hover over the report name.

Click Send Now. The Send Now page displays.

Fill out the information in the Send Now section.
Field Description To Select a user name from the drop-down list. Send Choose one of the following delivery options:
- Data in email: Displays the report in the email body.
- Data in email and to History List: Displays the report in the email and saves it to the History List.
- Data and link to History List in email: Displays the report and includes a link to its History List location.
- Link to History List in email: Sends only a link to the report in the History List.
Delivery Format Select the format for the report.
If you choose Excel, you may place each report page on a separate sheet.
If you choose Plain Text, select a delimiter for the data.
Compress contents Select this option to send the report as a compressed (zip) attachment.
You can not select this option if you have chosen HTML as the delivery format.
Expand-by fields Prints all objects in the Page-by drop-down list when the report is emailed. Burst Sends personalized data slices to one or more users. This option is rarely used and may not be available for all reports. Subject Enter a subject for the email.

Message Enter a message for the email.

Click the plus sign next to Advanced Options to configure additional settings.
Field Description Password protect zip file Protects the compressed file with a password (available only if Compress Contents is selected). .Zip file name Enter a name for the zip file. Use contact security for each contact group member Applies contact-level security settings to recipients. See this topic for more information on format options.
Complete any required information in the Index section (options vary by report), then click OK to send the report. If errors are present, they will be highlighted in red.
- Fill out the information in the Index section. This section will vary depending on the report you've selected.

Click OK. The report is sent to the recipient.
If your report contains errors, they will be highlighted in red.
Splitting a Standard Report
You can divide report data into separate pages using the Page-by feature.
For example, in the Active and Pending Fee Offer Discount report, you may separate data by Discount Effective Date.
- Find the report.

Click and drag a column into the PAGE-BY area. A yellow highlight box indicates when it is in the proper position. The report updates.

Select a view from the new drop-down menu in the PAGE-BY area.
Exporting a Report
You can export report data in multiple formats, depending on how you plan to use the information.
If you export a report as a Graph only, these options will be limited.

Access the Export option by one of two ways:

Hover over the report name and click Export.

Click the Export icon from a generated report's Report Home menu.
The Export Options page displays.

- Choose to show the Whole Report or only the portion showing in the grid when you generated it.
- Select one of the following options:
- Excel with plain text: Removes CounselLink formatting. Recommended for large data sets.
- CSV file format: Exports data as comma-separated values.

Excel with formatting: Retains report colors and formatting.
Consider de-selecting the Merge Row Header and Merge Column Header options in the Grid tool for easier Excel use later. Also, de-select Show Totals under the Data tools menu. See this topic for more information.
- HTML: Saves the report as a web page.
- Plain Text: Saves the report as a text file.
- Choose Export Report Title if you want the title to appear in the exported file.
- Chose Export filter details if you want the report's filter details to show in the exported file.
- Click Edit Custom Settings next to Edit Header and Footer if you wish to include a specialized header and footer.
- Select options under Excel options if you want those values to display as text rather than the default format.
- Select Embed all images if you want images included within the exported file.
- Select Do not prompt me again if you want the options you select to apply automatically upon report generation.
- Click Export.
Exporting a Report to a PDF
You can export report data as a PDF file.

Access the Export as PDF option by one of two ways:

Click the PDF button upon hovering over the report name.

Click the PDF icon from a generated report's Report Home menu.
The PDF Options page displays.

- Choose to show the Whole Report or only the portion showing in the grid when you generated it.
- Adjust the scaling as necessary.
- Select a Portrait or Landscape orientation for the data.
- Click Edit Custom Settings next to Page Header and Footer if you wish to include a specialized header and footer.
- Click Edit Custom Settings next to Report Header if you wish to include a specialized header.
- Select if you'd like the cover page of the report to include Filter Details and Report Details.
- Select if you'd like the cover page to appear before or after the report.
- Click Show advanced options for more specific options to adjust margins and headers on your PDF.
- Select Do not prompt me again if you want the options you select to apply automatically upon report generation.
- Click Export.
Report Subscriptions
CounselLink allows you to schedule reports for automatic delivery on a recurring basis or when specific events occur.
The Subscriptions page provides quick access to personal report views and reports you have subscribed to. You may unsubscribe at any time.
