Reports in CounselLink
Reporting organizes your LexisNexis® CounselLink® data into a structured, readable format. In CounselLink, data is stored as objects called Metrics and Attributes.
Click this link to access a free course on reporting, including how to run and customize standard reports in CounselLink.
-
Metrics(
) are data points on which mathematical calculations can be performed. For example, the Total Billed Amount of an invoice represents the sum of all fees and expenses on a single invoice.
-
Attributes(
) are data elements that cannot be used in arithmetic calculations. Examples include Law Firm Name, City, and File Handler.
Understanding the difference between Metrics and Attributes helps you identify report components and more effectively add, remove, or create objects.
Attributes are located on the left side of the report layout, while Metrics are on the right.
CounselLink also provides filters and prompts to help refine report results.
Filters: Determine whether specific data is included in or excluded from report results.
Prompts: Appear when a report is generated and allow users to restrict or filter data during execution.
All report objects are managed by a central database that retrieves data directly from the application. Data is refreshed throughout the business day to ensure reports reflect the most current available information.
Report Features
The following features are available on most CounselLink reports:
