Deleting Multiple Matters
There are various reasons you may want to delete matters—for example, if a matter is a duplicate or if the assigned law firm is closing. However, you cannot delete a matter that has an invoice or a legal hold attached.
If you delete a matter that has related sub-matters, the sub-matters are not deleted. However, they are no longer attached to the matter family.
In most cases, it is recommended to close matters instead of deleting them to retain records. See Closing Multiple Matters for more information.
