Fee structures and fee offers in LexisNexis® CounselLink® define the billing arrangements between your organization and outside law firms.
Fee Structure
A fee structure is your organization’s billing framework. It outlines:
The type of work to be performed
The applicable area of law
The permitted fee types (for example, flat fee, hourly, capped fee)
Your organization may:
Use the same fee structure for similar matters, or
Create multiple fee structures for different practice areas or billing arrangements
Once a fee structure is created, your organization invites law firms to submit a fee offer based on its terms.
Fee Offer
A fee offer is the law firm’s proposed billing arrangement created in response to a fee structure. It may include:
Timekeeper rates
Level-based rates
Stage-based pricing
Discounts or premiums
Additional payment terms
Once approved by your organization, the fee offer’s rates and terms apply to matters assigned under that fee structure.
Finding a Fee Offer or Fee Structure
You can locate fee offers or fee structures using:
The global search bar
The Fees tab
The Fees & Discounts panel

Searching for Fee Offers and Structures
Use the search field in the top bar to find a specific fee offer or fee structure. Choose Fee Offers or Fee Structures as the category. Then, you can search by any attribute (e.g. name, number, status, etc.). The Fees Search page will display with matching terms.
Accessing Fees from the Fees & Discounts Panel
Use the Fees & Discounts Panel on the homepage for common searches performed on the Fees Search page, including links to review new or resubmitted fee offers. Clicking a link opens the Fees Search page with the selected filter applied.
Accessing Fees from Info Tiles
You can also configure your info tiles to display Fee Offer or Fee Structure search links relevant to your needs.
Accessing Fee Offers and Structures from the Fees Tab
Click the Fees tab from the top of the page. The Fees Search page displays with all active Fee Offers or Fee Structures to which you have access. Use the search bar to find key words and filters and columns to modify your results. You can also use saved views to save your commonly used search criteria for quick access.
