Finding an Invoice
There are multiple ways to locate an invoice in CounselLink. You can access invoices from:
- An email notification
- The Invoices tab
- The Billing Panel on the homepage
- A previously configured saved view

Accessing an Invoice from Your Email
If you are assigned to review invoices, you will receive an email notification when invoices are ready for your review.
Click the link provided in the email.
A new browser tab opens to the invoice’s Invoice Overview page in CounselLink.
Accessing Invoices from the Invoice Tab
Click the Invoices tab from the top toolbar.
By default, the page shows all unapproved invoices, whether or not they have assigned tasks.
From here, you can:
Use the search bar to enter keywords
Apply filters to narrow results
Customize columns to adjust displayed information
Modify the Filters panel to match your workflow needs
Accessing Invoices from the Billing Panel
On the homepage, locate the Billing Panel.
- Click one of the invoice search filter links to open the Invoice Search page with that filter applied.
- Use the Search Invoices text box to perform a new search.
- Click the Paper Processing button (if available) to view the status of invoices submitted through the Paper Processing team. The Paper Processing button appears only if your organization allows firms to submit invoices through Paper Processing.
Using Saved Views for Invoices
If you frequently search for the same group of invoices, you can create a Saved View for quick access.
For example, you may need to generate a monthly report showing invoices that still require review. A Saved View allows one-click access to those results.
- Click the Invoices tab on the top toolbar

Configure your filters to display the desired invoices.

Customize your columns to show the preferred information.

Click Save View.
The Save View window displays.
- Name your Saved View.
- Click Save.
Configuring Info Tiles for Invoicing
Info tiles tiles are the four colored boxes displayed at the top of your homepage. You can customize them to provide quick access to commonly used invoice searches.
For example, if you regularly review invoices, you may want to display Invoices – Review Required.

Hover over the tile you wish to change.
- Click the gear icon.

Select one of the following options:
- Invoices - Pending: Displays all invoices in a pending state.
- Invoices - Pending Law Firm Review - Displays invoices currently with the law firm during collaborative review.
- Invoices - Rejected: Displays rejected invoices.
- Invoices - Review Required: Displays invoices requiring client review.
The tile updates to reflect your selection.
Viewing Invoice Status through Paper Processing
If a law firm (or, in some cases, someone within your organization) submits an invoice through the Paper Processing team, you can check the status of that submission.

On the homepage, click the Paper Processing button in the Billing Panel.
The Paper Invoice Search page displays.
- Enter the confirmation number provided in the automated submission email.
- Click Search.
Matching results display. If the invoice has been accepted, the results include a link to the Invoice Overview page.
